John Knowles (left), director of Highline Adventure attained a Diploma in Outdoor Activities at the College of West Anglia in 2001. He is nationally qualified to instruct canoe, kayak, sail, climb, archery and is a Mountain Leader. He also has a Certificate of Education.

Over the last 7 years he has led expeditions for teenage students to such places as Outer Mongolia, China, Peru, Guyana, Guatemala, Belize, Kenya, Morocco and others. He has worked as a freelance instructor throughout the UK for the last 7 years.
